Abstract
We have described a 35-year-old man with M pneumoniae pneumonia who had severe hemolytic anemia that appeared to respond well to high-dose corticosteroid therapy. Whether corticosteroids have value in decreasing the severity of hemolytic anemia due to cold agglutinin and other protean extrapulmonary manifestations with M pneumoniae infection needs further controlled study. Our experience suggests that corticosteroids may be beneficial.Entities:
