Abstract
The long-term results of thymectomy in 24 children with generalized myasthenia gravis are reviewed. Sixteen had complete remission and another seven were improved. This compares favorably with reported spontaneous remission rates of 30%. Because of the low morbidity in recent reports and the possibility that early thymectomy is more beneficial, we recommend thymectomy at the onset of juvenile generalized myasthenia gravis.Entities:
