Abstract
Several techniques of thumb basilar joint arthroplasty depend on an intact flexor carpi radialis (FCR) tendon. There are situations, however, when the FCR tendon may be attenuated or iatrogenically injured, which make these techniques difficult or unfeasible. Familiarity with intraoperative salvage techniques in this setting is imperative. We present techniques for stabilizing the base of the thumb metacarpal when the FCR is deficient or injured.Entities:
