Retroperitoneal haemorrhage from the superior gluteal artery: a late complication of total hip arthroplasty.

K W Bakker1, L F Gast.

Abstract

A patient with rheumatoid arthritis was admitted with a sudden onset of abdominal pain owing to a retroperitoneal haemorrhage from a false aneursym of the superior gluteal artery. This aneurysm probably developed as a result of a migrating total hip prosthesis.
