Abstract
In adults with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), the preservation of residual renal function (RRF) has been shown to be associated with decreased mortality and improved control of complications of chronic kidney disease. However, less is known on the benefits of RRF in the pediatric dialysis population. The purpose of this article is to review the clinical significance of RRF and to discuss strategies for the preservation of RRF in children with ESRD.Entities:
