Abstract
Immunoblotting for caspase-1 is the gold-standard method of detecting inflammasome activation. In contrast to IL-1β-based readouts, it can be used in an experimental setup independent of de novo gene expression. Here, we present protocols for the preparation and precipitation of supernatant samples containing activated caspase-1 as well as protocols for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and protein immunoblotting.Entities:
