Abstract
Nail alterations are frequently seen in daily practice, but they are often difficult to interpret. Basic knowledge of the anatomy and biology of the nail facilitates their diagnosis as this frequently allows their development and morphology to be explained. The following short review gives hints at the most important infections, inflammatory nail diseases and tumors.Entities:
