Structures of two nortriterpenoid saponins from Stauntonia chinensis.

Abstract

Two new nortriterpenoid saponins, designated yemuoside YM8 [1] and yemuoside YM9 [2], were isolated from Stauntonia chinensis. A new saponin 3 was obtained from the cleavage of the ester-glycoside linkage of 1 or 2. Structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence.
