[Case report--cerebral fat metabolism syndrome after bilateral femoral fracture].

Patrick Wöhler1, Bertrand Hirl, Wolfgang Kellermann.

Abstract

The cerebral fat embolism syndrome has many facets, ranging from delirium to seizures or even brain death. The diagnosis is a real challenge, especially if the pulmonary symptoms are missing, as in the case presented here. After elimination of other causes MRI imaging together with clinical symptoms paths the way to the diagnosis. © Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart · New York.
