The primary advantages of SPECT/CT image fusion are more accurate identification and localization of disease and improved specificity. As illustrated here, software-based SPECT/CT image fusion enhances diagnosis for a variety of clinical presentations using the armamentarium of common radiopharmaceuticals, but without the costs of hybrid systems.
