Hope, meaning, and purpose: making recovery possible.

Charles M Weinberg1.

Abstract

Hope, meaning, and purpose are three key ingredients that compose a recovery oriented approach to living, but it all starts with hope. It is helpful for people in distress to dream of something better, with hope supplying the motivation to explore valued life goals and learn new skills to navigate new roads. If needed, professional support can also help to change our narrative. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2013 APA, all rights reserved).
