Abstract
Despite the proliferation of low-cost wearable sensors, until recently we have not been able to monitor our brain activity in our daily lives with affordable and wearable devices. In this paper we provide an overview of the state-of-the-art of wearable electroencephalographic (EEG) devices after determining the key characteristics that enable wider adoption. Furthermore, we explore their potential applications, which suggest that wearable EEG devices can become a major enabler for personalized health. This review can serve as a reference on the state-of-the-art at the beginning of 2013.Mesh:
