Abstract
Neutropenic fever commonly necessitates hospital admission following chemotherapy, contributing significantly to the economic cost of cancer management. Strategies utilising early discharge and ambulatory management with oral antibiotics have been demonstrated safe and effective internationally and included in recently published Australian guidelines. Here, we sought to evaluate this strategy for the first time in a controlled series in the Australian setting to allow ambulatory management for low-risk patients to become the new standard of care at our institution.Entities:
