Sir, Spindle cell neoplasms of the oral cavity often impose a diagnostic challenge to the oral clinician and differentiation from other similar microscopic simulates may be enigmatic.[1] There is no approved working classification for spindle cell neoplasms of the oral cavity in the literature. A simple working type classification is proposed here for spindle cell neoplasms of the oral cavity [Table 1]. This classification is based on the predominance of spindle cells in the histopathology of the lesions of the oral cavity. This classification includes neural, myofibroblastic, muscle, fibroblastic, vascular, epithelial, odontogenic and miscellaneous tumors. This classification will be useful for the cytopathologists/oral pathologists who are dealing with oral neoplasms.
