Abstract
Perimenopausal women may encounter multidimensional changes that influence their quality of life. Our purpose in this study was to evaluate the long-term effects of telephone counseling as a method of intervention for menopausal women. A parallel group controlled trial was designed. The intervention group showed a significant increase in self-health management at the four- and eight-month follow-up evaluations. The quality of life in the intervention group was significantly improved when measured during the eighth and twelfth months. Results of this study can be used as a basis for practical implementation of the telephone counseling service in middle-aged women elsewhere.Entities:
