Abstract

Bacterial pathogens were rapidly identified by shotgun proteomics using a novel, easy to implement database search strategy. Peptide sequence data from nano-LC-MS/MS was searched against a database represented by concatenated proteomes of completed genome sequences. Select bacterial species, including BSL-3 select agents, were used to demonstrate this method. Crown
