Abstract
Although major advances in drug development and public health are helping to control the HIV/AIDS epidemic, there is a strong rationale for pursuing a more definitive cure. Several bold but unproven strategies for HIV eradication are reviewed in this issue of CPT, including novel drugs, gene therapy, and bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Early results, including one probable case of HIV eradication in a leukemia patient, are intriguing but raise many questions.Entities:
