Clinical learning environment audit.

This paper outlines the development process of comprehensive clinical learning environment audit for all placements for student nurse on the education circuit in one Health District. The aims of the audit, the planning of the documentation, audit processes and personnel involved are explained. Difficulties and advantages of the system are discussed. The process, though time consuming, has been effective in terms of achievement of audit recommendations, service and education shared initiatives and improvement in staff morale.
