The role of operations in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Although radiotherapy is the mainstay of treatment, operations play an important role in the management of problem cases of NPC. The selection of patients and the surgical approaches for residual and recurrent disease in the nasopharynx and neck are discussed.
