Abstract
Globalization has increased interdependence between countries and highlighted the importance of international cooperation for improving global health outcomes. International hospital partnerships aimed at expanding education, research opportunities or improving services are increasingly being shaped by globalization processes. Focusing on public university hospitals, this article calls for a critical review of the motives, processes and impact of international hospital partnerships in a changing landscape characterized by economic uncertainty and a global power shift to emerging economies.Mesh:
