Abstract
The severity of avascular necrosis (AVN) after closed reduction of developmental dysplasia of the hip determines the final clinical outcomes. Our study aimed to correlate the possible predictors with the severity of AVN. After follow-up of the patients on skeletal maturity, 37 patients (39 hips) were included. Age at reduction is important to predict the severity of AVN. Older patients are at a greater risk of suffering from more severe AVN. Other values such as the degree of initial dislocation or the impact of the femoral head ossific nucleus show no precognition to the severity of AVN.Entities:
