Abstract
BACKGROUND: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) was introduced by the World Health Organization as a common taxonomy to describe the burden of health conditions. This study focuses on the development of a scale for staging basic mobility and walking functions based on the ICF.Entities:

Figure 2Walking scale.
Figure 3Threshold distribution of new scales and original ICF items. The borders of levels between 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of the Basic Mobility and Walking Scale represent the locations of the threshold levels in logit. The border (0 and 1) of each ICF code represents the threshold of whether the person performed the task (=1) or not (=0).
