Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the 5-HT1A receptor agonists buspirone and ipsapirone (1-10 mg/kg) on plasma adrenaline (A) levels and on glycemia in the conscious rat. The results indicate that buspirone was able, within 5 min, to increase plasma A and glucose levels in a dose-dependent manner. Ipsapirone administration triggered similar patterns, except that the highest dose used (10 mg/kg) promoted a time-dependent increase in plasma A and glucose levels that was maximal at the end of analysis.Entities:
