Abstract
The purpose of this review is to explore the impact of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems on patient safety from a nursing perspective. The paper discusses the importance of safety culture within nursing, nursing perceptions of CPOE, and the impact of CPOE on nursing workflow. The findings indicate that the implementation of CPOE negatively impacts nursing workflow when CPOE systems are inadequately designed. Future work is necessary to explore the impact of CPOE on nursing workflow and the direct impact on patient safety.Entities:
