New onset of atrial fibrillation in the hospitalized patient.

Prashant D Bhave1, Hooman Kamel.

Abstract

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common dysrhythmia that clinicians often encounter while caring for hospitalized patients. Although many patients will have carried a diagnosis of AF prior to hospital admission, this review will pertain to patients for whom a first documented episode of AF occurs during hospitalization.
