Abstract
Oxygen-vacant nanocrystalline MnO(2) has been prepared by the simple process of annealing pristine oxide in Ar or O(2) . Both experimental and computational studies indicate that the catalytic activity of MnO(2) towards oxygen reduction is enhanced by introducing a modest concentration of oxygen vacancies.Entities:
