Hyperkalemia-induced Brugada pattern with electrical alternans.

Renguang Liu1, Qinghua Chang.

Abstract

The Brugada syndrome is a genetic disease (mutation of the SCN5A gene) that predisposes to syncope and life-threatening sudden cardiac death. The case highlights the importance of recognizing hyperkalemia, as potential triggers of the acquired Brugada sign with electrical alternans. ©2012, Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
