An improved characterization of cattle chromosomes by means of high-resolution G- and R-band comparison.

L Iannuzzi1.

Abstract

An improved characterization of cattle chromosomes was obtained by means of high-resolution G- and R-band comparison. Models of G- and R-banded karyotypes that were arranged according to the Reading system and the previous RBA-banded karyotype were obtained at the 475 band level by using early- and late-BrdU incorporation in synchronized cell cultures. As in human chromosomes, only one common G- and R-banding nomenclature is proposed.
