Abstract
Oncogenic osteomalacia is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome of systemic bone demineralization secondary to a tumor-induced dysregulation of phosphorus metabolism. The tumor's low prevalence, small size, and variable location often result in years of muscular weakness and bone pain before diagnosis. With complete treatment, patient's symptoms swiftly dissipate. We report the case of a 63-year-old previously healthy man with a 20-month course of musculoskeletal symptoms before diagnosis and resection of a posterior tibial tumor. Postoperatively, the patient had returned to his previous lifestyle when an insufficiency fracture required prophylactic stabilization.Entities:
