Abstract
Thrombopoietin (TPO) attracts much attention as an effective stimulus for blood cell formation in patients with hematopoietic disorders. In this issue of Cell Stem Cell, de Laval et al. (2013) show that TPO can also promote "healthy" hematopoietic stem cells when administered before radiotherapy to minimize HSC injury and mutagenesis in mice.Entities:
