Abstract
The human fetal anterior commissure was easily observed connecting the bilateral external capsules in frontal sections via hematoxylin and eosin staining at 7-8 weeks of gestation. However, after 12 weeks of gestation, the terminal area became difficult to identify because complicated looping fibers developed in the bilateral temporal lobes. The anterior commissure thus serves to connect the two temporal lobes.Entities:
