Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the practical use of Deslorelin in a clinical setting to induce oestrus and ovulation and to assess pregnancy rates. Sixteen anoestrus bitches that were brought into the clinic were implanted subcutaneously in the ventral abdomen with Deslorelin. Implants were removed after ovulation was assumed to have occurred. All bitches came into oestrus and 13 ovulated. 11 of 16 bitches became pregnant (68.8%) and all continued to term. Average litter size was 7.6 puppies. On average, the implant was in place for 13.8 days.Mesh:
