Abstract
We established the 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay to assess damage induced by Staphylococcus aureus in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). The MTT assay was comparable to the previously published (51)chromium release assay. MTT reduction by intracellular S. aureus was negligible and therefore permits assessment of S. aureus induced EC damage.Entities:
