Abstract
To clarify further the relationship between religiosity and personal adjustment, four kinds of religious motivation were distinguished: intrinsic, self-determined extrinsic, non-self-determined extrinsic, and amotivation. A study of 176 French-Canadian elderly people found that these four kinds of religious motivation can be reliably measured, that they display a pattern of intercorrelations consistent with theoretical predictions, and that they are related to other important aspects of the lives of these elderly people in a theoretically meaningful manner.Entities:
