Abstract
Acute otitis media is one of the most common infections in childhood and the options of therapy have been examined in numerous studies. Nevertheless, there are controversial opinions regarding the question whether antibiotic therapy makes sense. This is proved through the many different ways that the primary treatment of the middle ear infection is handled throughout the international community. This work gives an overview of the current knowledge and based on these results gives practical recommendations to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of the individual patients.Entities:
