Abstract
Thermoablation (TA) has become an increasingly popular treatment for small renal masses (SRMs). Although long-term outcomes are not currently reported, TA may have a role in being an alternative to radical or partial nephrectomy. This review gives a broad overview of TA and discusses current controversies in the field. Keywords: Ablation; interventional radiology; renal cell carcinoma; renal malignancy; thermoablation
