Abstract
The primary aim of the revision in the new Japanese guidelines (JGL) was to provide general as well as specialized clinicians in Japan and the world with knowledge on standard treatments, and that of the Japanese classification of gastric carcinoma (JC) was to provide the basic rules to describe the status of a tumor and the evaluation of treatment outcome. For developing good clinical practice in the world, the definitions identical with those in the UICC/TNM 7th edition are adopted so that the Japanese experience can be expressed using the international terminology. The major revision points are summarized in this paper.Entities:
