Abstract
PURPOSE: In the U.S., an estimated 21% of people living with HIV/AIDS do not know their positive HIV status. Expanding rap id HIV testing in the dental setting may increase the number of individuals who are aware of their HIV status and can begin medical care and social support services if seropositive and appropriate. As a member of the dental team, the dental hygienist, with the proper knowledge and training, may be suitable to conduct rapid HIV testing.Entities:
