Abstract
The clinical application of an aspiration thrombectomy system is presented. The system consists of a 7-F Teflon catheter with a rotating coaxial propeller-tipped wire. Thrombectomy was successful in treating occlusion of two femoropopliteal arteries and one hemodialysis implant but was not completely successful in a draining shunt vein. Preliminary results are encouraging; mechanical thrombectomy may offer an alternative to local lysis therapy.Mesh:
