Abstract
Although biliary stones and sludge are relatively common after liver transplantation (OLT), symptomatic cholecystolithiasis or acute cholecystitis have rarely been reported. Until the early 1990s few transplant centers preserved the donor's gallbladder for transplantation with the liver graft. This technique allows one to perform procedures, such as cholecystojejunostomy or a donor gallbladder conduit for biliary tract reconstruction, to treat posttransplant biliary complications. Herein we have reported three cases of successful either laparoscopic or open cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholecystolithiasis or acute cholecystitis between 14 and 19 years after OLT, as well as a systematic literature review.Entities:
