Abstract
Invasive tumors containing abnormal melanocvtes are termed ax malignant melanomas. Primary malignant melanomas of the nasal and paranasal cavities are extremely rare. A 65 years old female presented with bleeding from the nose and a gradually increasing mass in the left nostril. Histopathological examination of the specimen showed "poorly differentiated carcinoma" like features. But S-100 staining proved it to be a malignant melanoma. This case is reported here for its rarity. The literature on malignant melanoma is reviewed and the aetiology pathology, diagnostic and therapeutic problems are also discussed.Entities:
