Abstract
A survey was carried out to investigate general practitioners' attitude towards drug addicts and addiction. A questionnaire was sent to all GPs in the Norwich Health District and obtained an 87% response rate. A range of negative and positive attitudes was identified. The implications of these findings are discussed with particular reference to current government policy of encouraging GPs to extend their role in treating drug addiction.Entities:
