Abstract
The authors report a case of status epilepticus localized to sensorimotor cortex that was successfully treated with surgical resection and multiple subpial transections (MST). A 43 year old woman presented in status epilepticus emanating from a right central area focus as verified by subdural grid and strip electrodes. The seizures were medically intractable but were successfully aborted after surgical intervention. The authors describe their case and review the literature on central area status epilepticus.Entities:
