Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To research the chemical constituents from Gnaphalium hypoleucum.
METHODS: Compounds were separated by using silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography and their structures were elucidated by means of spectral data analysis.
RESULTS: Ten compounds were isolated and identified as tetracosanoic acid (1), 5-hydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone (2), beta-sitosterol (3), 5-hydroxy-3,6,7,8,4'-pentamethoxyflavone (4), 5-hydroxy-3,6, 7,8,3',4'-hexamethoxyflavone (5), apigenin (6), luteolin (7), quercetin (8), luteolin4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (9), quercetin-4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (10).
CONCLUSION: All of these compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time. Compound 5 is isolated from the genus for the first time.
