Abstract
Therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing high blood pressure still encompass a number of difficulties and limitations. This is the case particularly in resistant hypertension, i.e. a condition characterized by a very high cardiovascular risk. Carotid baroreceptor stimulation and renal sympathetic nerves ablation represent new approaches in the treatment of this condition. This paper will provide a comparison of the effects of the two procedures, highlighting their effects on blood pressure, metabolic profile, target organ damage, safety and tolerability profile.Entities:
