Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis (NLCS) is a rare benign hamartomatous skin tumor characterized by dermal deposition of mature adipose tissue. It's classified in two types: the classical form with multiple soft, pedunculated, cerebriform papules and nodules that coalesce into plaques, and the solitary form that consists of a solitary papule or nodule. In this study, eight cases of NLCS are reported.Entities:

Epidemiologic, clinical and pathological features, and management of Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis (NLCS) in all eight patients.
| Patient | Sex | Age (years) | Duration | Location | Clinical aspect | Histopathology | Treatment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | M | 38 | 1 year | Left buttock | Plaque of several soft skin-colored nodules of 1 cm to 2 cm | Mature adipose tissue in reticular dermis without connection to the hypodermis | Surgical resection |
| 2 | F | 38 | 3 months | Rigth thigh | Multiple soft yellowish papules coalescing into plaques | Ectopic mature adipocytes in reticular dermis | Abstention |
| 3 | F | 39 | 1 year | Left shoulder | One soft skin-colored nodule of 1 cm | Lobular proliferation of fat tissue in the dermis | Surgical resection |
| 4 | M | 7 | 6 years | Right shoulder | Large (6 cm x 2 cm) soft skin-colored verrucous plaque composed of nodules and papules | Ectopic mature adipocytes in reticular dermis | Surgical resection |
| 5 | M | 24 | 20 years | Lumbar area | 1 cm to 3 cm-grouped soft skin-colored papules | Epidermal acanthosis, ectopic mature adipocytes in papillary dermis | Surgical resection |
| 6 | F | 32 | 10 years | Thigh | Multiple soft skin-colored papules coalescing into a 5 cm plaque | Epidermal acanthosis; hyperkeratosis; dermal proliferation of mature adipocytes | Surgical resection |
| 7 | F | 14 | 9 years | Flank | Large (6 cm x 2 cm) soft skin-colored plaque composed of nodules | Thinned epidermis, ectopic mature adipose tissue in reticular dermis | Surgical resection |
| 8 | F | 41 | 35 years | Left buttock | Soft, skin-colored voluminous tumor (10 cm x 7 cm) composed of multiple nodules with a cerebriform surface | Normal epidermis, mature fat cells in reticular dermis without hypodermis connection | Surgical resection |
