Abstract
Over the past two decades the treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids has seen substantial changes due to the evolution of current and establishment of new conservative and surgical methods. This review gives an overview of the current research with respect to the multifactorial etiology and pathophysiology of keloids and hypertrophic scars, discusses conservative surgical treatment options and provides an outlook on novel treatment strategies.Entities:
