Abstract
A digestion method for determination of total mercury in fish is described, which is economical, simple and reliable. Digestion is carried out by wet ashing with HNO3/HClO3/HClO4 in the presence of chloric acid. The procedure can be carried out at normal pressure in test tubes without suffering losses of Hg. The determination itself is carried out by the well known cold vapor atomic absorption method. This method was worked out specially for the regulatory control of fish, but can probably be used for related problems.Entities:
