Mean (SE) reported for normally distributed variables, median (IQR) reported for non-normally distributed variables;
a Bonferonni correction (ie, 0.05/number of comparisons) was applied to alpha to protect against a type 1 error due to multiple comparisons. Thus the new alpha level is: 0.05/12 = .004.
