Abstract

In the title compound, [Zn(C(21)H(17)N(5))(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·2CH(3)OH, the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by six N atoms from two tridentate 2,6-bis-(1-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral environment. In the crystal, the picrate anions and methanol solvent mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also observed.
